Springer Park Playground Burnaby

5050 Ridgelawn Dr, Burnaby, BC V5B 4T4

Springer Park is on Ridgelawn Drive and Bellwood Avenue in Burnaby. The playground is located in the South East portion of the park, near Bellwood Avenue. Springer Park Playground has 1 swingset, 2 playsets, and 1 spinning chair. It is unfortunate to say that I saw a homeless person encamped in the South East portion of the park. This is something to look out for if you decide to come here.

One swingset and the toddler playset:

The swing set has the typical setup of 2 swings plus 2 toddler swings. One playset is for toddlers and the other is for older kids. The smaller playset that is for toddlers has 3 slides, a wall-climbing aspect, and a spiral climber.

Playset for older kids:

The playset that is for older kids is focused on the climbing aspect of play. It is quite tall, and no stair access to the upper portion. There is a monkey bar below the wobbly bridge, and also a section with a tilted circular monkey bar. This playset has a tall, steep slide that even I was hesitant to go down.

Other amenities of Springer Park:

There is a small picnic table to the West that is very close to the playground. Up the hill, a little further to the North West, there is a seating area with 3 benches with a trellis structure behind. If you explore this area a little, you will find a community rock garden to the South, where you can find some painted rocks. I was glad to find this hidden treasure, unfortunately, this was too close to the homeless person for us to stick around for longer.

Springer Park in Burnaby

Springer Park Playground is a little secluded playground hidden deep in Springer Park. It has a climbing-focused playset to challenge the upper body strength of older kids and a toddler playset for kids who just want to stick to what feels comfortable. Although it is not part of the playground, the community rock garden is what sets this park different from all the others.
