6348 Dufferin Ave, Burnaby, BC V5H 3T1
Kisbey Park is located between Kisbey Avenue and Dufferin Avenue near Oakland Street. The playground is down the hill from the large fenced grassy soccer field in the park and covers a moderate area and consists of a playset, swings, Springer, and a sandbox. There are some benches around the playground for parents to sit while watching their children. Although there is a slope on the grass, there are also trees in the way, so this park may not be the best when it comes to winter sledding. This playground is suitable for children of all ages.

The all-encompassing playset:
The playset is large and has your typical plastic slides and climbers. It is divided into 2 parts by a wobbly bridge where one side is suitable for toddlers, and the other is more suitable for preschoolers and older kids. The toddler side has a stair with 2 short slides with activity panels, while the taller side has a climbing component with an attached monkey bar.

The large Swing is a bonus:
The swing set has the typical 2 swings plus 2 toddler swings setup. However, there’s a larger swing close by with a larger seat to accommodate parent involvement or multiple kids’ play. This is a good feature for toddlers who are afraid to go onto the swing themselves and want an adult to go with them. It is also worth noting that there is a small stump climber near the playset.

The Sandbox comes with water:
The sandbox is quite small but it has a built-in water outlet, and kids can wet the sand to make them more mouldable without going to the beach. As wet sands are easier to shape and more fun to play with, this water outlet is a welcome addition to the small sandbox.

Other Amenities in Kisbey Park in Burnaby
Other amenities include seating around the playground where adults can sit and the large field up the hill where kids can run around freely. There is a large slope near the playground, but this may not be suitable for sledding during winter. First of all, there are trees scattered around the hill, secondly, there is no buffer zone at the bottom of the hill so it might be hard to stop.
Kisbey Park Playground covers a large area, but the things they have here feel quite limited. That is because the amenities are scattered, and there is no congruity to the playground design. You can see that the sandbox and the swingset are quite far away from the playset in opposite directions. Being built on the slope also doesn’t help with either the aesthetics or function of the playground.
