What to Expect

Friday, October 30 (4–8pm): Haunted House. The haunted house runs at W. 18th and Cambie. Organizers haven’t said how scary it is, so if you have little ones, peek in first or watch other kids come out.

Saturday, October 31: Halloween day. The movie has been revealed: Beetlejuice! The movie starts at 10:30am, and trick-or-treating and the rest of the fun run from noon to 3pm.

Across the weekend, Cambie Village promises trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, live music, sweet treats and live entertainment “and more.”

Tips for Parents

  • Come in costume. It’s the whole point, and the kids will love showing off.
  • Friday after dark: the haunted house runs into the evening. Bring a flashlight or glow stick for small kids.
  • Bring a treat bag for trick-or-treating on Saturday from noon.
  • Dress for the weather. This is an outdoor plaza event, so pack rain gear just in case.
  • Beetlejuice has some spooky moments; it may be a bit much for preschoolers.
  • Make it a Halloween afternoon out: Cambie Village has plenty of cafés and shops to pop into.

Getting There

The Plaza on W. 18th is just off Cambie Street at W. 18th Avenue. The Canada Line runs under Cambie; King Edward and Broadway–City Hall stations are each a short walk away. Street parking nearby is limited on busy days, so transit is your friend.
