Fun Fall Adventure for Older Kids
Laity Pumpkin Patch South is the “older-kids and teens” side of the beloved Laity Pumpkin Patch in Maple Ridge, filled with high-energy attractions and fun challenges. While Laity Pumpkin Patch North caters to younger visitors, the South side turns up the excitement with games, pumpkin cannon and the famous Pumpkin Town backdrop that makes for amazing fall family photos.
We spent the day picking pumpkins, cheering at the pumpkin cannon, racing through the corn maze, tackling the obstacle course, and bouncing on the giant inflatable pumpkin pad. There’s so much to do that older kids could easily stay for hours exploring all the creative setups and photo spots.
Best of all, Laity Pumpkin Patch South has got a decent concession that offers real food.
Hours of Operation
Laity Pumpkin Patch South typically opens from late September through October 30 each year.
Weekdays: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Weekends & Holidays: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Entrance
Parking is available along Laity Street, with clear signage leading you in. Once you step through the entrance, you’re greeted with an open farmyard atmosphere—wide fields, barns painted bright red, and stacks of pumpkins everywhere. It’s stroller-friendly, though some activity zones are on uneven grass or bark mulch. Right away, you’ll notice lots of space for kids to run and explore.

Activities
This is where Laity South shines. The activities are more dynamic than at the North site, with plenty of motion-based and interactive games. Families can enjoy:
- Pumpkin Cannon Shows – Watch pumpkins soar through the air (schedule varies).
- Corn Maze Races – Two maze entrances let kids and parents race head-to-head!
- Giant Log Jenga & 2×4 Dominoes – Oversized games for big laughs.
- Inflatable Pumpkin Jump Pad – A crowd favourite where kids can bounce to their hearts’ content.
- Tilted Tabletop Mazes – Use handles to guide a ball through a painted wooden maze.
- Photo Backdrops & Games – Everywhere you turn, there’s something new to play or photograph.
Plan at least two to three hours to enjoy all the attractions without feeling rushed.

Glow-in-the-Dark Barn
One of the most magical surprises at Laity South is the glow-in-the-dark barn display. Inside, blacklight art brings farm animals, sunflowers, and tractors to life with vivid neon colours. It’s a short walk-through experience but totally worth visiting—especially as evening approaches. Kids are mesmerized by the glowing animals and farm scenes.

Pumpkin Town Photo Ops
Pumpkin Town is an absolute showstopper—a western-style street complete with a sheriff’s office, saloon, and general store, all made from pumpkins and gourds! This display alone is worth the visit. It’s a must-see for photos and feels like stepping into a Halloween storybook.

Obstacle Course & Big Games
Older kids will love testing their skills in the mini obstacle zones. From balance beams to climbing challenges and wooden bridges, the setup encourages teamwork and laughter. Parents can join in or cheer from nearby benches.
Giant Jenga and log dominoes add an extra layer of fun for groups who enjoy a bit of friendly competition.

Inflatable Jumping Pad
The big orange inflatable “pumpkin” pad is one of the most popular attractions on the South side. Kids can jump, tumble, and roll safely under supervision. Expect it to be busy on sunny afternoons—it’s that popular!

Petting Zoo
Families can visit the cozy animal barn, home to goats, turkeys, ducks, cats, chicks, quails, and pheasants. The animals are friendly, and hand-washing stations are available nearby. This section offers a quiet break between the more action-packed areas.

The Pumpkin Patch
Of course, no visit is complete without picking your own pumpkin! The South side has both pre-picked options and a field where you can find pumpkins still attached to their vines. Prices vary by size and variety—look for the pricing boards near the patch or at the exit. Wheelbarrows are available for hauling your finds.

Concession
The concession stand serves light snacks and warm drinks. You’ll find items like burgers, hot dogs, and cookies; perfect for quick refueling between attractions, and honestly much better selection than the North pumpkin patch.

Weekends & Holidays: Around $15
