The Big Top is going back up beside False Creek. Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA opens at Concord Pacific Place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, and runs through the holidays to Sunday, January 10, 2027.
LUZIA is set in a dreamlike Mexico, and its name mixes two Spanish words: luz (light) and lluvia (rain). It’s the first Cirque touring show to bring water into the acrobatics, with rain falling on stage and a pool built into the floor. For kids, that means a footballer doing tricks with a soccer ball, hummingbird acrobats, hoop divers and a running woman with butterfly wings.
It’s a big-ticket outing, so here’s what to know before you book.

What Kids Will Love
- Rain on stage. Water pours down in curtains and patterns, and some acts happen right in it.
- The pool. Part of the stage turns into a pool of water. Cirque says it holds 10,000 litres, kept at 39°C for the performers, and drains away through more than 94,000 tiny holes.
- Football tricks. One performer balances and juggles a soccer ball in ways that will have your soccer kid trying it in the living room.
- Animal costumes. Think acrobats dressed as hummingbirds, with wings and long beaks.
- Classic circus acts. Hoop diving, swings, a Cyr wheel, juggling, and hand balancing on canes.

Is It OK for Little Kids?
Cirque calls LUZIA a family show for all ages. Its own FAQ also says it has loud noises and some dark scenes, and flashing lights that may affect people with photosensitive epilepsy.
The bigger question for little ones is length. It’s just over two hours with the break, and evening shows can end past bedtime. School-age kids usually do best. If you’re bringing a preschooler, a matinee is easier.
Children over 2 need their own ticket. If you’re bringing a baby, ask about seating when you book.

Tickets: How to Save
- Book early for December. Weekend and holiday-break shows are the ones most families want.
- Compare a few dates. The price changes by performance, so a weekday matinee can cost less than a Saturday night.
- Groups of 10 or more get special rates. Call 1-866-624-7783 or email [email protected].
- Buy from Cirque du Soleil directly, on the official site, at the box office or at 1-877-924-7783. Resale sites often charge more.
At the Big Top

- Arrive early. Cirque suggests arriving about 1 hour 30 minutes before showtime to explore the grounds, the gift shop and the snack stands.
- No outside food or drinks. Snacks are sold on site, including popcorn, candy, cotton candy, nachos, hot dogs and kid-friendly options. Tell staff about any special dietary needs.
- Photos: phones and small cameras are OK, with no flash. Short videos only, kept below shoulder height.
- Drop-off: there’s a drop-off area close to the main entrance.
- Accessibility: ramps at the entrance and exit, and accessible washrooms. Accessible seats can be bought online. Bring your own wheelchair, since there are only a few on site.

Getting There
The Big Top is at 88 Pacific Blvd, between BC Place and the east end of False Creek. Stadium–Chinatown SkyTrain Station is a short walk away, and transit is the easiest choice on BC Place event nights. Cirque says more travel and parking details are still to come, so check the ticket page before you go.
Parent Tips
- Pick a matinee for under-6s. You’re out by dinner, and nobody falls asleep in the second half.
- Use the intermission. The 25-minute break is your washroom and snack window. Go as soon as it starts to beat the lines.
- Bring ear defenders for sensitive kids. The music and effects are loud in places.
- Sit a little higher with small children. It’s easier for them to see over the heads in front.
- Make it a holiday tradition. LUZIA runs through the winter break until Jan 10, so it works as a Christmas gift or a treat after the holidays. Pair it with an evening light walk, like Bear Creek Lights in Surrey (Nov 6–20, free).
