Bear Creek Lights 2026: Free Light Walk in Surrey (Book Your Tickets Now)

Book now: Free timed-entry tickets for Bear Creek Lights open today, Tuesday, October 20, at 10 a.m. at bearcreektickets.surrey.ca (more info at surrey.ca/bearcreeklights). Tickets are required for entry. Drop-in spots will be limited, especially on weekends, so book early if you want a Friday, Saturday or Sunday visit.

Bear Creek Lights is back at Surrey’s Bear Creek Park from November 6 to 20, 2026, and the City says this is its largest display yet. There are 25 per cent more light displays and the walking route is longer. Admission is free, but last year the event drew over 60,000 visitors, and the City recommends booking tickets ahead.

This is the 14th year of the event. It’s a family-friendly evening walk along the park’s garden trails, with photo spots, food trucks and extra activities on some nights.

Parent Tips

  1. Book first, plan later. Tickets open October 20 at 10 a.m. If you want a weekend slot, get it early because drop-in space is limited.
  2. Skip November 11. The event is closed for Remembrance Day.
  3. Choose your time slot. Entry runs every 30 minutes from 5 to 9 p.m., so you can pick an early slot for little ones.
  4. Dress for the weather. The event runs rain or shine (unless the weather is extreme), and the walk is outdoors.
  5. Plan your photo stops. The Starlight Tunnel and the Giant Bear are the big photo spots.
  6. Bring a snack budget. The food trucks include mini donuts, Japadog and Rotato & Potato.

Final Thoughts

Bear Creek Lights is one of the easiest free holiday outings in the Lower Mainland. It’s a one-kilometre lit-up loop in a park families already know, with food trucks at the start. The one thing to get right is booking. Reserve a free timed ticket as soon as booking opens on October 20, especially for a weekend visit, then just dress for the weather and go.
