Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum 2025 – A Family-Friendly Halloween Adventure

Looking for a Halloween event that’s spooky and family-friendly? 🎃
This year’s Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum is back — and it’s better than ever! With a brand-new organizer, fresh attractions, and a perfect mix of thrills and giggles, this Halloween outing is one you won’t want to miss.

From the Vancouver Circus School’s breathtaking aerial acts to the Vampire DJ Dance Party by DJ Drac where kids can bust their best moves to “Baby Shark” and “Golden,” the night is full of excitement. Whether you’re there for the glowing lights, the undead wedding chapel, or just some good family fun, Haunted Village delivers a magical blend of spooky charm and community spirit.

🧛‍♂️ What’s New This Year

This year’s Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum is being run by a new organizer, and it brings fresh energy to a beloved family tradition. Among the standout additions:

  • A thrilling performance by the Vancouver Circus School. Unlike your typical “creepy vs. comical” show, their aerialist is exceptionally skilled — one lady climbed up two long length of cloth, ascended high into the air … then dropped down halfway to surprise (and nicely startle) the audience. We were relieved to see her safe and sound afterwards — but what a moment!
  • The Vampire DJ Midnight Dance Party by DJ Drac: not literally at midnight, but late enough for big kids and families. DJ Drac, decked out as a vampire, spun trendy hits like Golden and Soda Pop, as well as classics like Baby Shark. Kids danced their energy out under the spooky lights.
  • Return of favourite spooky scenes: the Undead Wedding Chapel, atmospheric lighting, and a full family-friendly Halloween ambience.

  • Location: 6501 Deer Lake Avenue, Burnaby, BC.
  • Parking: Free parking is available in the museum lot, but limited space — arriving early is a great idea. https://www.burnabyvillagemuseum.ca
  • Weather Note: While the event goes ahead rain or shine, your timing might matter — our visit had clear skies, but rain started just as we were leaving.

🎪 What You’ll Experience

  • A powerful aerial performance by Vancouver Circus School — strong, graceful, and “wow”-worthy.
  • The Vampire DJ Dance Party by DJ Drac: lights, music, costumes, and kids (and adults) dancing with smiles.
  • Spooky but family-friendly installations: Undead Wedding Chapel, themed décor, and photo-friendly spots.
  • Food trucks or snacks (check event site for details).
  • Lots of photo opportunities, comfortable pacing, and just the right amount of “spooky” for kids.

✅ Family-Friendly Tips

  • Arrive early to secure parking and a good spot for viewing the aerial show or dance party.
  • Dress warmly – evenings can get chilly, especially outdoors.
  • Bring a good camera/phone – you’ll want to save those moments.
  • Plan for rain: if clouds loom, bring rain gear — we narrowly avoided getting wet.
  • Check the program schedule on the official site so you don’t miss the aerial show or DJ set.
  • Set a meeting point in case you get separated amidst the crowds (especially with active kids).

🧡 Final Thoughts

The Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum has leveled up this year. With dynamic circus acrobatics, a vamp-themed DJ dance party, and all the familiar spooky fun, it’s an excellent choice for a Halloween outing with kids. It balances thrills and fun so that youngsters feel excited — not overwhelmed.
