Forest Glen Park Playground – Burnaby

4855 Bond St, Burnaby, BC V5H 1H1

Forest Glen Park has one of my favorite playgrounds to go to in Burnaby. This playground has many amenities to facilitate the growth of kids in different age groups. The equipment has been recently updated, so everything is brand new in this playground. There is a huge grass area to host many activities for children and adults alike. The slopes that go down from the street make this park safer for sledding during winter. Forest Glen Park also has a wading pool for kids to cool off during summer.

Pros

  • Good variety of playsets for Toddlers and Preschoolers
  • Large park area for other activities
  • Has a wading pool for kids to cool off during Summer
  • In-ward slope for safe Sledding during Winter

Cons

  • Not much for the Middle Childhood kids
  • Limited Street Parking / No Parking Lot
  • Sometimes owners let big dogs off-leash despite the signage

Play Equipment

  • 2 Playsets
  • 1 Swing Set
  • Slides
  • Monkey Bars
  • Climbers
  • Binoculars
  • Wobble Bridge
  • Activity panels

Notable Features

  • Wading Pool
  • Slope for Sledding
  • Large park area

For Toddlers:

There’s a playset including 3 short slides, a small set of stairs, a few climbers, a wobbly bridge, and a binocular on top that is suitable for toddlers in this playground. Activity panels can be found around the playset. The climbers may still be too tall for toddlers, so parental supervision is required. There’s also a swing set of 4 swings that includes 2 swings with full bucket seats for toddlers.

For Preschoolers:

There is another playset with a tall slide with climbers and a monkey bar for preschoolers. The swing set has 2 swings that are suitable for older children and adults.

For Adults:

There are 2 benches on either side of the playground where parents can park the strollers and rest while seeing their children play. The benches are in close proximity so parents can get to their kids quickly should they need to intervene. There is also a newly built structure with 2 picnic tables underneath. Other amenities include trash receptacles and a water fountain.
